Mr Tipton was a native of Mitchell County N.C., but had lived in Erwin, TN before and after retiring. He was the son of the late Hiram and Myra Warrick of Limestone, TN.
Dove was born in Mitchell County, NC November 11, 1875. He was a member of the Christian Church, a merchant, and teacher. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Cecil Tipton.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Tipton of the home and one son; George Britt Tipton of Relief, N.C and wife, Bessie Whitson Tipton; six grand children: William Dove Tipton and wife Doris Tipton of Unicoi , TN; Estelle Tipton Peterson and husband, Geter Petereson of Erwin, TN; Clyde Raymond Tipton and wife, Louise Greene of Relief, NC; Mary Tipton Kilgore and husband, William Hugh Kilgore of Bristol, TN.; Boyd H. Tipton and wife, Betty Sherley, of Johnson City TN.; and Anne Tipton of Relief, NC.
Mr. Tipton will rest in peace at the Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin, TN.
