NETTIE BRODY FORBES
Word was recently received of the death of Mrs. Nettie Brody Forbes, a former Custer county resident. Mrs. Forbes passed away in Caldwell, Ida. on June 18, 1949.
She was born February 27, 1868 in Vinton, Ia., and moved to Lee Park, Nebr. when just a small girl.
She was united in marriage to Mr. W. J. Forbes on April 25, 1886, and they spent 59 years of their married life on a farm in the eastern part of Custer county. Due to Mrs. Forbes' failing health, they moved to Caldwell, Ida. four years ago to be near a daughter, Mrs. Florence Sperry.
Survivors include her husband, W. J. Forbes, two daughters, Mrs. Florence Sperry, Caldwell, Ida., and Miss Myrtle Forbes, Aloha, Ore., one son, Ralph Forbes, Carlton, Ore., five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One son, George Edward, preceded her in death, passing away at Arcadia, Nebraska, on October 8, 1948.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at the Peckham-Daka chapel and interment was in the Canyon Hill cemetery at Caldwell, Ida.
