Viola M. Christensen, 91, 306 E. Liberty St., Walnut, died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with the Rev. Pearle Lange, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her memory for the First Christian Church and the Walnut Fire Department.
Mrs. Christensen was born on Nov. 1, 1907, in Manlius, the daughter of Harry and Lena (Heidenreich) Krebs. She was united in marriage to Herbert Christensen Sr. at Manlius on Nov. 7, 1928. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1971.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Walnut Order of Eastern Star, the Walnut Senior Citizens and the Walnut Chapter of Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include three sons, Herbert (Gloria) Christensen, Duane (Janet) Christensen and Randy Christensen, all of Walnut; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
