John R. Graves, chaplain at Elon College, and The Rev. Robert M. Kimball, pastor of the Frist Congregational Christian Church of Burlington, officiating. Music was provided by the senior choir of the church with Mrs. Alfred Hassell, organist. Active pallbearers were LeRoy S. Hughes, A.L. Rich, W.B. Terrell, George Colclough and Mark McAdams. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. A.L. Hock, Dr. N.F. Brannock, Dr. J.E. Danseley, Dr. James Howell, Dr. D.H. Cunningham, Dr. L. Smith and Clyde Hahn. He was a retired college professor of English.
