Mr. Dunn
LANETT - Mr. Cecil (Unk) Dunn, Sr. 83, of Lanett died Tuesday, Dec. 17,1996 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point with the Rev. Gene Webb, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Valley.
Mr. Dunnis survived by two daughters, Marie Dunn DesBoulling of San Franscisco, Calif., and Sara Williams of Lanett; his son, Cecil C. Dunn, Jr. of Trenton, N. J.; two sisters, Earleen Sanders of Smiths and Maureen Marsh of Columbus, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Born Dec. 7, 1913, in Lee County, Ala., Mr. Dunn was of the Methodist faith. He was a retired paint contractor in New Jersey before moving to Lanett. Mr. Dunn served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was wounded in action during the invasion of Normandy in France. Mr. Dunn received the Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 67.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point.
