Settled in Porter When This Section Was a Vast Wilderness--Lived Practically His Entire Life in Porter
(Tuesday, July 27)
Allen Brody of Porter, one of the pioneer settlers of this community, and well and favorably known in Michigan City, died at 4 o'clock, Monday afternoon at his home in Porter. Death resulted from old age and a complication of ailments. He was 80 years old. Deceased was the father of James and Morgan Brody of Michigan City. He was grandfather to Mrs. T. L. Green, west eighth street, this city.
When Allen Brody was a youth he came to Porter. This community was then a wilderness. He had, since that time, continuously resided in Porter and was known throughout Porter County.
Besides Morgan and James Brody, he leaves his wife and the following children: Mrs. Albert Brown and Ezra F. Brody of Porter and Mrs. Thomas L. Darragh and Mrs. August Michaels of Chicago. He is also survived by several grandchildren and by great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon in Porter. The relatives living in this city will attend.

The funeral of the late Allen Brody of Porter was held this afternoon in Porter. Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Green and daughter, Morgan Brody and family, Mrs. Anna Browne and son, Edmond Browne, Mrs. T. W. Weaver and James Brody of this city attended the funeral.
