Lillie E. Lee, 98, of Yuma went to join the angels on Friday, August 8, 2008.
Lillie was born on November 24, 1909 in Voss, Texas. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and she was extremely proud to work alongside her husband in his construction office. After he retired her son took over the business and she was equally proud to work there as well. Lillie was the last charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she was a proud member of the choir for many years. To Lillie and her husband the church was their life, she even stood by him as they built the church with love and labor. She taught Sunday school for many generations and it was a joy in life she loved. She was a wonderful cook and will be remembered most for her delicious cobblers and Sunday dinners with the entire family. Even as she passed from this life to her eternal life she was singing. She was a great inspiration to all who knew her and her values on church and family will be passed on forever. She will be missed dearly by her family and those who got a chance to love her.
Lillie is survived by her sister, Virginia Pierson; and brother, Marcus Moore. her children, Betty (Dale) Stafford Snell, Patsy Lee and Curtis (Lydia) Lee; her grandchildren, Greg Stafford, Tina Lee, Stephanie Howell, Brandon Lee and Darren Lee; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins all of Yuma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Lee; her daughter, Matilda "Sissy" Lee; and her granddaughter, LaDonna Ann Stafford.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held at First Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, August 14, 2008 starting at 10 a.m. with Stephen Bloomfield and Stephen McClanahan officiating.
Pallbearers are Greg Stafford, Brandon Lee, Darren Lee, Robert Curtis Gonzales, Morgan Howell, Justin Stafford, Cody Deppen and Cameron Deppen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Pierson, Clifford Moore, Jake Moore, Virgil Moore, Ronnie Moore, Bucky Moore, Mike Moore, David Moore, Kevin Moore, Gary Moore, Duane Kendall, Gene Lee and Verlan Lee.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Yuma.
