WILLA MAE (BUZ) WATSON BIRDSONG

Mrs. Willia Mae (Buz) Birdsong, 90, of Pulaski died Aug. 26, 2006, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home.
One of the oldest citizens of the Bunker Hill Community, she was born Nov. 16, 1915, in that community and was the daughter of the late Neely Hasten and Annie Louise Harwell Watson.
She married James Freeman Birdsong Dec. 24, 1938. She was loved and respected in the Bunker Hill Community and was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
She was always available to sew for the public and help make costumes for activities at Bunker Hill School.
She was also willing to help anyone and was active in many ways in the small village of Bunker Hill.
In additions to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Freeman and son, Morris Watson Birdsong.
Funeral services were to have been held today (Tuesday) at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Burial was to have been in Giles Memory Garden with Terry L. Greer, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Decatur, Ala., officiating.
Survivors include two sons, James Glenn Birdsong and wife Rita of Decatur and Jerry Lane Birdsong and wife Betty of Shelbyville; two daughters, Carol B. James and husband Johnny of Elkmont, Ala., and Debra B. Griffin and husband Mike of Ardmore, Ala.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
