Cecil Lewis Abercrombie, Sr., 73, husband of Gail McDaniel Abercrombie, passed away Wednesday November 5, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Biltmore, NC he was a son of the late Jonathan Cecil and Anna Kate Duckworth Abercrombie.

Mr. Abercrombie served in the US Air Force, was a former employee of Laurens Glass and had retired from Cincinnati Milacron.

He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, the Proctor Bible Class and the Administrative Board at the church.

He was also a Mason and member of the Wallace Lodge #49 where he had been the Past Master; and had served on the Technical Board of Greenville Technical College.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Eileen Abercrombie and husband, Gregg Watson of Donalds and Cecil Lewis Abercrombie, Jr. and wife, Jennifer H. of Laurens; and two grandchildren, Jesse A. Abercrombie and Blakely A. Abercrombie.

He was predeceased by one brother, Rev. Frank L. Abercrombie and one sister, Audrey Anderson.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. James United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Charlie Short with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
