Charles Winthrop "Win" Chandler was the son of Elliott C. Chandler and Mary Ann King, one of their nine children. On 21 Jul 1886, he married Susanna H. Malin in Walnut, Bureau County, IL. He moved to Earlville, IL in 1894 where he ran a successful business and later moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1904, where he spent his remaining days. He and his wife, "Anna," raised their nephew, Charles C. Malin Chandler, following the death of his mother (Viola (nee Stalter) Malin) in 1888.

Remains Brought to Walnut Last Thursday and Laid to Rest in Walnut Cemetery.

Charles Winthrop Chandler was born in LaMoille, Illinois, April 17, 1857. He was the son of Elliott C. and Mary Ann Chandler and was one of a family of nine children. He moved to Walnut in his early childhood, where he grew to manhood and embarked in business with his brother Perry C. Chandler.
He was married to Anna Malin on July 21, 1886 and in 1894, with his wife and foster son, Charles C. Chandler, moved to Earlville, Illinois, where he conducted a successful business for several years. In 1906 he moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., where he resided until his death which occurred May 23, 1927.
He is survived by his wife, who cared for him during his long illness with most untiring love and devotion, also one granddaughter, Adele Delight Chandler of Springfield, Ill., two brothers and three sister: Edwin C. Chandler and Mrs. Sophia E. Castner of Walnut, Ill.; Dr. S. Wellington Chandler of Dixon, Ill.; Mrs. Zilpha A. Peterman of Franklin Grove, Ill.; and Mrs. Celestine Trimble of Omaha, Nebraska. His parents, three brothers and son preceeded him in death.
Mr. Chandler was a man of sterling qualities, kind and generous to all, true to his friends and devoted to his family. He was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Episcopal church of Oklahoma City and of the Modern Woodmen of America of that place. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. of Shabbona Lodge of Earlville, Ill., which lodge presented him with a twenty-five year jewel badge a few months ago.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Oklahoma City, and the remains were accompanied to Walnut by Mrs. Chandler, her brother Henry Malin and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stafford of Kansas City, Mo. Brief services were held at the home of Mrs. Sophia E. Castner on Thursday afternoon, May 26th, with Rev. H. D. Dick of the Methodist Episcopal church in charge. Mrs. Ralph A. Tuckerman, accompanied by Mrs. A. E. Burress, sang two beautifully appropriate songs. Burial was in Walnut cemetery.

"Charles W. Chandler, 69 years old, died early Tuesday morning at his home, 709 N. Geary avenue. He is survived by his widow, two brothers, Dr. A.W. Chandler of Dixon, Ill., and Edwin Chandler of Walnut, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Castner of Walnut, Ill., Mrs. Effie Peterman of Franklin Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Lesta Trimble of Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were conducted at the Hahn funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock by Rev. Forney Hutchinson after which the body was forwarded to Walnut, Ill., for burial."
