Forrest lived most of his life in Francisco, Indiana. He was an under ground coal miner at King's Mine in Princeton and retired from the Keensburg Mine in Illinois. He was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America. He also worked as a carpenter and a farm hand. He enjoyed gardening and travel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents Edward and Flossie Bolin, brother Alvin Bolin and his sister Hazel Wilson.

Graveside services September 26, 2008 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Francisco, with burial to follow. There will be no visitation. Family may meet at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton at 1 P.M. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
