Dorothy was born to the late Anthony and Maria (Joseph) Mahfood. She was the last remaining and youngest of 11 siblings including Jamelee, James, Sarah, George, Julie, William, Barbara, Edward, Ann, and Jennie. Proud of her Syrian heritage and even prouder to be an American, she graduated third in her class from Steubenville High School before completing nursing school at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating in 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Mace and her son, David Wilson Mace. She is survived by David's wife, Cheryl, of Findlay, Ohio, and her own children, Mary Agnes Anderson, of Cincinnati, and James Dean (Cheryl) Mace, of Columbus, Ohio. Her grandchildren are Jim, Tom, Aaron, Jeff, Rebecca, and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy and her family lived in Clarksburg, Ohio, and attended the Clarksburg United Methodist Church for many years. After working at the Chillicothe City Hospital and Veterans Affairs Medical Center, she retired from nursing and began a much treasured ten-year career at age 70 as a hostess at the Bridge Street McDonald's Restaurant in Chillicothe. She enjoyed talking with everyone she met and developed many friendships with customers and co-workers.
