James Carr,born in Fremont,NH,served as Colonel of the 2nd NH Vols.during the Civil War.At Gettysburg on the night of July 3rd,he defied orders and took out a band of volunteers to bring back wounded men in the area of the Trostle Farm.He was a lumberman in Michigan after the war.
