Thomasia "Kate" Minor Fontaine, wife of Richard Morris Fontaine, was born on 25 February 1849 at Edgewood, in Hanover County, to Lucius Horatio Minor and his wife, Catherine Frances Berkeley; she was known by her nick-name, "Kate." She was married on 4 June 1874 in Hanover County with Richard Morris Fontaine. She died on 23 April 1890 at Beaverdam at the age of 41. She had six children.
