VALE Mr. Alvin Jessie Cook, 81, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Lutheran Home, Hickory West.
Born Nov. 2, 1921, in Catawba County, he was a son of Odes Harrison and Vina Leila Wise Cook.
He retired from North Hickory Furniture Company with 31 years of service.
He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and trustee and a member of the brotherhood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Georgia Modell Bradshaw Cook; and two brothers, Grady Cook and Roy Cook.
