died at his home a mile east of this village Monday morning shortly after eight o'clock after a very short illness. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) morning at ten o'clock at his late home, Rev. W. H. English, pastor of the Methodist church officiating.
Fred M, Bayley was born on the Old homestead where he has always lived November 11, 1851, and was a son of the late William Bayley, who died about fifteen years ago. He received his early education at the district and village schools, and has always been a farmer. He was prominent in democratic politics and held the office of deputy collector of customs under the last Cleveland
Administration.
Thirty-years ago he married Miss Irene Calvin, who lived six years and to them were born three children, two of whom survive. Miss Ellen, who has been at home for some weeks and who went to New York with her grandmother, the mother of deceased, a week ago, and William, who is now in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he went about six weeks ago. Mrs. Bayley was not able to return from New York for the funeral.
Eleven years ago he married Miss Anna Dunbar, and they have five children,
the oldest being nine years old. He is also survived by one brother, William P. Bayley, of Fergus Falls, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Anna Bayley, of Massena.
