He was the son of John Akerman and Teresa (Canfield) Akerman. He married Leta Faye Hassler on Oct. 17, 1862 in Gainesville, Texas. Mr. Akerman served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He has been a resident of Lindsay, Oklahoma since 1951 working in farming and ranching. Carl loved to fish and to spend time with his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Teresa Akerman and one brother, Fredrick Joe Akerman. Funeral services for Mr. Akerman are set for Friday, October 17th, 2008 at two o'clock p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
