Murder victim. A young life taken far too soon. Daughter of Joyce Collette and stepdaughter of Anthony Thompson. She was loved by all who knew her because of her warm smile and outstanding personality. She attended Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where, on November 12, 2008, she was murdered by another 15-year-old female student who had been her friend since childhood. The ex-friend was eventually convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Amanda's life exemplified God's influence and divine love and protection which she bestowed freely to those close to her and also to everyone she met. Grace was not just a part of her name but a true testament of her character. Aside from her mother and stepfather, she was also survived by her aunt Teshawnia Thompson and cousin Chris McLemore. May this beloved child rest in heavenly peace.
