ADKINS, KENNETH HERSHEL, SR., 85, Deer Lodge, passed away June 1, 2002 in his home. He was WW II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Levi "Mina" and Myrtle "Mertie" Jones Adkins; two sisters Jennie Hall and Ova Jones and two brothers Luther and Conlee Adkins. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mayvonne Adams Adkins; son, Kenneth "Kenny"" Adkins, Jr. and daughter-in-law Delores; daughter Gail and son-in-law John Hammond, Sr.; grandhcildren Rex and wife Kim, Tammy and husband Mike Winningham, Alyssia Plemons and Cody, Dallas and Douglas Adkins; great-grandchildren Kindra, Tiffany and Brandon and two brothers Joe and Burke Adkins. Interment was in Adams Hill Cemetery. Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg, was in charge of arrangements. [Morgan County News]
