ANDERSON, BERTIE MAE (SMITH), 79, Chestnut Ridge Community, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001. She was a member of the Friends Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Anderson; mother and father Alfred and Vernie Smith; sisters Edith Smith and Lula Durham and Minnie Smith; and brothers Clinton, Thurman, and Odis Smith. She is survived by her son Eulice Anderson and his wife Dale of Mt. Dora, Fl.; daughters Darlene Brown of Clarkrange and Delores Adkins and husband Kenny of Deer Lodge. sisters Gladys Durham of Mt. Dora and Pearl Scott of Deer Lodge; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family received friends Saturday evening, Sept. 1, 2001 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Schubert Funeral Home, Sunbright. Funeral services beagn at 8 p.m. with Rev. Steve Looper officiating. Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Adam's Hill Cemetery.[Morgan County News]
