Mrs. Kruger was badly burned in an accident at her home Friday morning when an explosion of kerosene with which she was igniting a fire in the kitchen stove, set her cloths ablaze; she died this morning [Aug 2nd]. Her daughter, Mrs. M.E. [Tharpe/Thorp], was with her when the end came after most painful suffering.
The condition of Mr. Kruger, who was badly burned in attempting to rescue his wife, was somewhat improved, it was reported at the hospital this morning. His chances for recovery unless complications set in were believed to be good.
Her husband and ten children survive; five daughters: Minnie Schwab, Meyronne, Sask., Canada; Lillian Delmage, Minneapolis, MN; Edna Buck, Dayton, OH; Emma Sabble, Ogden, IA & Clara Tharpe, Boone, IA. Five sons: Charles, George, William, Lawrence and Clarence.
She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 2 brothers, John Aupperle of Keeler, Sask., Canada; and Will Aupperle of Council Bluffs, IA and one sister, Mrs. Martin Immel of Adair.
The remains were brought to Adair for burial Monday and funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Grant twp, conducted by the pastor, Rev. George Griesse. Interment was made in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
