May Aupperle was born March 6, 1889 in Adair County, IA and passed away on Feb 12, 1979 at the Doctor's Convalescent Hospital, Whittier, CA at the age of 89 yrs, 11 mos & 6 dys. She was the second child in a family of 10 children born to William and Caroline Aupperle.
In her early years she had to leave family & farm life to live in Colorado because of an asthmatic condition. After residing in Fort Collins and Denver for about 15 years, she moved to Los Angeles, working at the May Company [Dept Store] for the next 27 years until her retirement.
The Aupperle family moved from Iowa to Calif in 1929 and May was again able to reside with her own family making a home for her mother in her latter years.
Her unselfish love for her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews will always be a cherished memory. She leaves to mourn her loss her oldest sister, Sena Lovell, Adair, IA; sisters Lillian Watterson, Corona, CA and Hilda McCarty, Whittier, CA; brothers: Ralph Aupperle, Council Bluffs, IA; Edward Aupperle, West Los Angeles, CA and Clarence Aupperle, Burbank, CA, and 18 well-loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Emma Swinehart, brother Roy and infant sister Hulda.
Services were held on Feb 15, 1979 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Memorial Park in Hollywood, CA at the Church of the Hills.

About May her youngest sister Hilda wrote: "Lived in Colorado for 15 years because of asthmatic condition--moved to Calif at age 38--always had low pay job, but helped family out--loved all nieces and nephews--loved the LORD."
