Mrs. Mary Lou Hooker, 78, died at her home Rt. 1, Ridgeway, Va. on Wednesday following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hooker was the wife of J. Tilman Hooker who survives with eight sons, Sam, Percy, John, Charlie Pickerel, all of Ridgeway, and Ben and Will Pickerel both of Martinsville, and George Pickerel of Newport News, Va.; three brothers, Jesse Minter of Axton Va., Jimmy Minter of Winston-Salem and Howard Minter of Danville Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Weaver, Mount Airy, Mrs. J.T. Salmons of Danville, and Mrs. Kate Carter and Stella Minter of Leatherneck Va.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church near Wentworth. Burial will be in the church cemetery by Elder R. D. Bell.
