R. D. (Bud) Register Final Rites Held
Robert Delane (Bud) Register, 77, of Bethel died at 6:05 pm Saturday October 3 at the Panola County General Hospital in Carthage following a lengthy Illness.
Mr. Register, a lifetime resident of Bethel was a retired dairy farmer and carpenter.
Survivors include his widow; seven sons W[illard] C[legg] Register of Gilmer, Bob Register of Shreveport, Gene Register of Carthage, Wayne Register of Joaquin, and Gerald Register of Youngervllle, Wallace Register of Joaquin and Ronald Register of Logansport; four daughters, Mrs. James Bryan [Winnie Register] of Lufkin, Mrs. Glenn Price [Betty Register] of Webster [LA], Mrs. David Edminston [Alice Register] of Aurora S.C. and Mrs Donald Goslin [Florence Register] of Clinton, Mo., 33 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Frank Dean, Bobby Register, James Register, Chester Williamson, Tommy Duncan, Clarence Spears and Johnnie Gamble.
Funeral services were at 2 pm Monday at the Bethel United Methodist Church. The Rev L G Wilson pastor of the Bethel Methodist church officiated. Assisting was the Rev. Ira Peak, pastor of the Lakeshore Baptist Church. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Wellman's Funeral Home.
