A. Calvin Abercrombie, son of Alexander C. Abercrombie, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Clark was born May 5, 1857 in Kemper County, Mississippi. Between 1866 and 1870 the Abercrombie family moved to Cherokee County, Texas. On December 14, 1896 Calvin married Melvina Deauman in Cherokee County, Texas. Melvina was the daughter of Julus Deauman and Safronia Ann Stanley. Calvin served as a Justice of the Peace of Cherokee County. He died of a sudden illness on December 23, 1908. Melvina was married a second time to Leon Augustus Bagley in Nacogdoches County on October 30, 1909. She died on February 1, 1951 and is buried in Sacul Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
