Farmer and itinerant preacher who performed many weddings and funerals in the Bethel community. He was not known to have received any formal theological training.

Obituary
Rev Daniel Register, 62, well-known Baptist minister of DeSoto parish and life-long resident of Bethel community near here died Tuesday night after a week's illness.

Funeral rites were to be held at Wednesday at Bethel church with Rev W. S. McCullin of Grand Cane officiating. Interment was to follow in Bethel cemetery.

Surviving are 11 children: three sons and eight daughters as follows: Marvin Register, Shreveport, Waymon, Baton Rouge and Herman Texarkana; Mrs Tyler, Houston, Mrs. Clarence Spears, Mansfield, Mrs. Joe Lee Pugh of New Friendship community near here, Mrs. Avis Johnson, Sibley and the Misses Maizie, Eunice, Frances and Margaret of Bethel. Four brothers also survive: Cuff, Sam, Bud and Jess Register, all of Logansport; and four sisters, Mrs. W. E. Stevens, Mrs. Emma Sojourner, both of Logansport, Mrs. Lex Williams, Alexandria and Mrs. Betty Dean, Rockland, Texas.
