Mrs. Duncan was born in Tennessee September 4, 1830, and was brought with her parents to Sangamon county when 4 years old. She had resided in this city and at other places in the county for the last eighty years.
In 1865 she was married to William T. Duncan and to this union six children were born, five of whom survive. They are: R. G. Plunkett Duncan of Dennison, Texas; J. C. and J. F. Duncan, and Miss Mary A. Duncan and Mrs. C. W. Black of this city. There are also four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
