Moses DeLong, 79 years of age, resident of Owosso for the past 22 years, died at 11:15 o'clock Saturday night at his home, 1025 Freeman street, where he had been ill with heart disease since December 6. Mr. DeLong had been in critical condition for the past several days. The funeral will be held at the Jennings funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. E. H. Barnes, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. DeLong was born in Ontario on March 8, 1853, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arrey DeLong. He was raised in Canada, coming to Michigan when a young man and settling near St. Clair. He was married about 1873, to Miss Emily Vincent of St. Clair. They moved to Lapeer county where Mr. DeLong cleared a farm and made his home until 22 years ago when he came to Owosso, Mrs. DeLong died in 1928. He is survived by nine children, Moses Jr., and John DeLong, of this city; Mrs. Edward Titsworth, of Goodrich; Mrs. Jane Jennings, of Flint; Orrie and William DeLong, of Flint; the Rev. Herbert DeLong, Otisville; Mrs. Fred Evans, of Elba; and Mrs. Alva Kelly, of Carson City. There is one brother, John Delong of Lapeer; and 40 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mr. DeLong was a member of the Shiawassee Gleaners.
