Uriah A. Bailey (March 9, 1846 - September 5, 1921) enlisted in Company D, 11th Battalion, Virginia Reserves, on April 23, 1864 in Princeton, West Virginia. Transferred to Company H, 60th Virginia Infantry on December 12, 1864. Paroled on June 22, 1865. Bailey was 5'6" tall, had dark hair and dark eyes. His father, Jonathan Simms Bailey, a member of the 151st Virginia Militia and the 60th Virginia Infantry, died while a prisoner-of-war at Point Lookout, Maryland in November 1864. Enumerated on the 1880 Census of Mercer County, West Virginia, Beaver Pond District, age 33, farmer, married to Sarah, age 34. Uriah A. Bailey is buried in Sandlick Cemetery, Mercer County, West Virginia.
