SHREVEPORT — Funeral services for Michael Anthony Spears, 46, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, in First Baptist Church of Jennings. The Rev. Jerry Masters will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday, in Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation is 5:30-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home.

Mr. Spears died Tuesday night, March 30, 2004, in Schumpert Hospital of Shreveport. A native of Oakdale, he was a three-year resident of Shreveport, moving from Chicago. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School. He received his bachelor of science degree from Louisiana College of Pineville. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1980 to 1984. He was currently teaching at Woodlawn High School in Shreveport. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Jimmy and Dolores Fontenot Spears of Jennings; one brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Myra Spears of Jennings; and two nieces, Thea Madison and Molly Claire Spears.
