Cheryl A. Becker, a beautiful and shining light on Earth, spent her last hours laughing and smiling with friends and family before leaving this world with grace and beauty, her husband and daughter by her side on November 8, 2008. Cheryl leaves for now her loving husband, George Becker; her parents, Marilyn and Warren Logan; two brothers, Jeff (Sue) Cooper and Michael Cooper; her children, Nikki (Bruce) Rice, Joshua Adkins, Ryan (Vanessa) Old and Devin (Jessie) Old and stepchildren, Sonia (Todd) Cooper and Susan (Ignazio) Becker. She also leaves eleven grandchildren as her legacy and gift to this Earth. Those who have gone ahead of her and are with her now are her father (Daddy), William Cooper; her sisters, Wendy Leigh Cooper and Cammie Sue Cooper and her grandparents, (Mimi and Gramps), Harold and Mildred Hawkins. Cheryl was born to William and Marilyn Cooper on November 12, 1950. She said the greatest thing she ever did was to have her children and to raise them as best she could and always with love. It was through her children and his (soon to become 'theirs'), that she came to meet her husband and soul mate George, with whom she shared her last twenty years. Who knew that two scorpios could share the same house? But they did more than that. They shared an unspoken bond and a special understanding that made it obvious to all how deeply they loved one another. Cuddling and holding hands until the very end, the looks that passed between them spoke volumes without need for words. Together they made a home that revolved around family, filling it with something for everyone-from the 1000 square feet of deck, to the swimming pool, to the playground equipment for the grandkids that rivals most parks. All who visited were welcomed in with genuine warmth and hospitality. They treated everyone like family and because of it the house was always full of love and bustling with people and activity. All whose lives were touched by Cheryl are so much richer for the experience. Cheryl, our daughter, our sister-not one to be told how to live your life, you were always feisty and bullheaded when it came to doing it your way. We are so glad you were because we are so proud of the incredible woman you became. A touchstone of our family, yours was always the place where we would all come together. We (your loving Mom) will always remember days when we would 'shop till we drop', then have lunch-laughing and sharing the latest gossip. We (your fun-loving brothers) will always know better than to push you too far, lest you take up your hatchet in revenge-chopping down doors or anything else that might get in your way. We ('Daddy War') will always love and respect the way you stood up for who you were and what you believed in, always staying true to yourself. Truly a daughter to be proud of. You have meant the world to us and we will love you always. To your children you were a dedicated Mom, loving each of us uniquely and completely. You taught us how to 'groove' to the music, making sure we had a strong background in the wisdom of the oldies. This led to many impromptu and usually off key group renditions of such classics as 'Build Me Up Buttercup' when the inspiration would strike. You taught us to walk barefoot in the grass and to take a moment to appreciate the beauty around us. We are so grateful for our time with you and it is so hard to say goodbye. Until we meet again, we will do our best to follow the example you left us with, of love, of goodness and grace, of doing the right thing and commitment to those you love. We admired you here in physical life and we admire you now in spirit-for we know you are with us-because you told us that you always will be. We love you, Mom. To our Grandma, our fun, silly, playful, Grandma-you gave us each your love and attention as only a Grandma like you can. Decorating cookies (with more frosting on us than the cookies!), looking through pictures together, cuddling and hugs and kisses-you dished them all out equally and without reserve. Grandma's house was always a place to go to feel loved and wanted and important. The oldest of us will always make sure that the tiniest of us know how special you were and how you loved each and every one of us with all your heart. There were so many of us, family and friends, that you held close to your heart and that you shared a bond with. The memories that were created we will always keep with us-of vacations where we laughed so hard we cried, long talks on the phone, afternoons spent reading about the mysteries of ancient Egypt, sipping Little Kings on a sunny day with a gentle breeze and good company. Little moments known only to each of us individually over the years that will live inside us forever. You said you lived a full life with no regrets and we believe it. It is we who long to share one more special moment with you. But there are those who have waited a long time to hug you and be with you again, and we know that you are with Mimi and Gramps, Wendy Leigh, Cammie and Daddy, and Pywacket now. And so we say adieu for now, you beautiful and gentle spirit, until we meet again.... Arrangements were entrusted to Neville Funeral Home, Holland.
