Patty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She had an ability to put everyone at ease with her warmth and easy laugh. Patty was adopted as an infant.

Patricia A. "Patty" May, age 80, of Newton passed away at 5:35 a.m., Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Newton Rest Haven.

Patty was born Aug. 8, 1928, in St. Louis, the daughter of H.P. and Nora Mae Smith Lollar. On May 20, 1956, she married John May.

Patty was a teller at First National Bank for 10 years. She retired to raise her family. Memberships include Central Christian Church, Newton, Smallwood Home Extension Association and Order of the Eastern Star No. 497 Newton.

She will be loved and remembered by her husband John May of Newton; two sons and three daughters; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services: Central Christian Church, Newton, with Brother Mike Knepper officiating. Burial: West Lawn Cemetery, Newton.
