William Palmer Fulton

William Palmer Fulton, age 78, of Cherryville, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2007. He passed while at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC where he was surrounded by his family.

William, also known as "Bill" and "Dub", is survived by his wife Janet of 30 years, 3 children, Debra (Thomas) Kirby, III of Roundup, Montana, Leslie (Michael) Bramlett of Gilbert, Arizona and William, Jr. "Chip" (Tracy) Fulton of Waynesville NC and Step-son Christopher Oates of Fort Mill, S.C., Grandchildren: Matthew Paul Kirby, Bozeman, Mt, Cody Brooke Kirby, Roundup, Mt, Henry Jacob Bramlett, Gilbert, AZ, Step-grandchildren Thomas Kirby, IV, Roundup, Mt, Timothy Kirby (Laura) Rockvale, Mt, Brittnee Pedrioli and Brannon Pedrioli, Ceres California, Allyson Grace, Charoltte, NC. Step Great Grandchildren, Thomas Kirby, V., and Bryanna Kirby, Roundup, Mt, Hannah Secrest, Oregon. Brothers Oren and Paul Fulton, Cleveland County, NC. Numerous nieces and ne phews through out the U.S.

He was born at the family home in Kings Mountain, NC to Emma Frances Witherspoon Fulton and Palmer Dekalb Fulton on December 12, 1928. He graduated from Kings Mountain High School. He also served in the Army from 1950-1952. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Lenoir Rhyne College in 1956, then went to pursue his career in the Banking Business in New York City. His career then took him to St. Petersburg, Florida. He, then, returned to North Carolina and served on staff for the Institute of Outdoor Drama at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He finished his career working for Independent Newspapers as office manager and selling advertizing for 20 years in Cherryville, NC.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Frances Fulton, his father Palmer Dekalb Fulton, siblings Mary Louise, Robert Dekalb, Pansy, Elenor, Oliver, Preston, Dorothy, and Baby daughter Nancy.

Internment followed the service at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC.
