. "Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal" Tupelo, Mississippi Wednesday, July 9, 1997 VARDAMAN - Janie Weber LeCornu, 88, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at the Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport. She was born April 4, 1909, in Jackson, Tenn. to Joseph and Jennie Cain Weber. She was a retired merchant and a member of the Vardaman United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.. She was the widow of Charlie E. LeCornu. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Vardaman United Methodist Church with the Rev. E. S. Furr and the Rev. Mark McNair officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery with Eastern Star rites. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Vardaman is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one son, Clifton LeCornu of Ferguson, N. C.; one daughter, Laura Young and her husband, Paul, of Biloxi; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vardaman United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Senior Services in Tupelo, or the C. E. and Janie LeCornu Scholarship Fund at Millsaps College.
