Bessie Lela Shell, age 98, of Blount County passed away at TLC Nursing Home on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was a member of the Oneonta Church of God and retired from Blue Bell after more than 30 years. She loved going to singings and yard sales and also volunteering at the Blount Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Snell is preceded in death by her parents, Vinson & Lou Cindy Todd Allred and her husband, Rev. James Kermit Shell.
She is survived by her sons, James Kenneth Shell (Jackie) of Arab, AL and Billy Vinson Shell (Celia) of Oneonta, AL; her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Gilliland of Cleveland, AL; eight grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Bro. Bud Jones and Bro. Fred Nichols officiated services at 11:00 AM at Valley Chapel on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pall bearers: Scott Shell, Johnathan Shell, Wade Gilliland, Daniel Gilliland, Seth Shell, and Kendall Shell.
