Clara Busey must have been swept off her feet by dashing young William Busey, who came from Iowa. Perhaps he was a traveling salesman, as he and Clara married in Lithopolis, Ohio in 1880, and he passed away just four years later in Douglas, Kansas. He was home often enough to father two children, however: Burgess in 1881 and Gertie the following year.
