Ada and William lived in Lakeview, Texas with their two children (Hazel and Wendell) until 1928. Ada lost her mother Josie Roberty Hurley in October of 1927. The very next month (November 1927) she lost her infant brother Henry Hurley. January 1, 1928 her husband William died from Typhoid fever and was buried in an unmarked grave in Lakeview. She married Rennie Meggs in 1930 and moved to the Dallas area.
