Nathan Garner was born in Alabama. He married Sallie Bonneau (the daughter of Arnoldus Bonneau and Margaret Elizabeth Evageline Boland) in Cloud Croft, Washita County in the Territory of Oklahoma on February 15, 1898. They met during the time of the Oklahoma Land Rush. Sallie was living with her parents (Nollie and Maggie Bonneau) while working as a school teacher. Nathan was successful in the Land Rush and was awarded approximately 119 acres.

Sometime around 1900, they changed their last name from Garner to Gadman and lived the rest of their lives in or near Hemphill, Texas (note: 1920 US Census Series: T625, Roll: 1842, Pages: 136 & 137). Nathan worked on the railroad.

Nathan is the son of Levi Garner of Alabama and Mary Matilda Copeland of Pike County, Mississippi. Nathan and Sallie had 4 children - Levia born in 1904 in Texas, William Arles born 4 Jan 1906 in Beaumont, Texas, Anna born 1908 in Texas (possibly Sabine County) and Nathan "Nick" born in 1910 in Texas (possibly Sabine County).

Nathan is the Grandfather of Ronald Arles Gadman, Charles Emile Gadman, Rina Wynn Gadman, Wayne Arnold Gadman, Hilda Diane Gadman Wyatt, and Marvin "Butch" and Danny Martin. He is the Great Grandfather of Ronald Glen Gadman, Anthony Gadman, Danielle Louise Gadman Stoddard, Jason Clark Gadman, Stephanie Marie Gadman Morrell, Vickie Leigh Gadman Combs, and William Frederick and Michael David Wyatt. He is the GG Grandfather of Cade and Cole Gadman, Autymn and Blaine Stoddard, Cheyenne Combs, and Koralynn Simone Wyatt.
