Elizabeth Stecher married Jacob Abel on June 7, 1829 in Easton, Pennsylvania at the First Reformed Church. They were married by Rev. Pomp according to church records.

While she and Jacob are buried in Forks Cemetery, their children are buried in Forks, Easton Cemetery and one in West Pittson. One son, Edward, who is a attached to this memorial, built an Opera House in Easton Pa. which featured performers such as John & Ethel Barrymore, Jenny Lind & E.L. Davenport. In the 1960s, Arthur Siegel bought the building and converted it into the Siegel Department Store which current day is the Siegel Museum.

Another son, Jacob worked for Harper's and other journals in New York City City.
