Death of Mike Butler
Michael Butler, a resident of the valley for the past twenty years or more, died at the Palace Hotel in this city last Sunday, spleenic anemia being the cause of death. He had been in poor health for the past year or two, and the disease progressed until the culmination last Sunday.
Deceased came to Encampment during the boom times and had remained in the county almost continuously, of late years having been employed as a bartender in saloons of Encampment and Saratoga. He would have been 60 years of age next July.
It is said the only known relatives of Mr. Butler live somewhere in New York state, but none were present at the funeral, which occurred from the local Episcopal church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. R. E. Abraham conducted the funeral service and interment was made in the local cemetery,
