David Hannah Ward died Thursday, February 9, 1978 in a Temple Hospital. He was 48 years old. He was born in Fordyce, Arkansas on July 29, 1929, the son of Dr. Wendell P. Ward and Mary Eva (Oakley) Ward.

He was survived by his wife, Ellie Ward; daughters, Tammy Ward, Tobie Ward, and Tracie Ward; and sons David Todd Ward and Daniel Troy Ward all of Temple. He was also survived by his father, Dr. Wendell P. Ward, Sr. of Waco, his sister, Mrs. Ben A. Boswell of Temple, and his brother, Dr. Wendell P. Ward, Jr. of Duncanville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Eva Ward.

He had been a foreman of the mailing room of the Temple Daily Telegram for 18 years. Most recently, he had been superintendent of stores for Strasburger Enterprises. He was a member of the Western Hills Church of Christ.

The funeral was held on Saturday, February 11, in the Western Hills Church of Christ. Rev. James LeFan officiated. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Harper-Talasek Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
