Obituary
Lancaster Intelligencer, Lancaster, Pa.
February 9, 1870, p. 3

Obituary - Adam Trout, a well-known citizen, died at the County Asylum on Sunday morning at 5 o'clock. Mr. Trout was proprietor of the Western Hotel, this city, for about fifteen years. He was several times elected to Councils, was an active politician, and otherwise took a prominent part in public affairs. Some two years ago his mind became impaired, and he was placed in the Harrisburg Asylum, where he soon recovered sufficiently to be brought home, but having a relapse soon afterwards he was placed in the Lancaster County Asylum, where he has since remained. A few weeks ago his health began to give way, and he sunk gradually until Sunday morning, when he died. A short time before his death his reason was entirely restored. He will be interred, in accordance with his request, in the family burying ground at Paradise, on Wednesday morning.
