James A. Greenfield, 86, Kamrar, died Nov. 14, 1992 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Church of Kamrar with Dr. Craig Bex and Rev. Gerald Naber officiating. Burial is in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery, east of Kamrar. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Tuesday until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home.

James A. Greenfield, son of Arend and Biena Greenfield, was born April 17, 1906 on a farm near Kamrar. He attended rural schools.

On Oct. 1, 1929 he married Jeanette Koop. The couple lived in the Radcliffe and Kamrar areas where he farmed and also did carpenter work.

He wife died in 1979. Following her death, he continued to live in Kamrar.

He is survived by daughters, Wanda Magnuson of Canon City, Colo., Esther Davids of Minnetonka, Minn. and Janet Richeson of Lake Mills; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ollie Barkema and Maria Lenning, both of Jewell, Ella Janes of Britt, and Nella Cummings of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Arlon Magnuson; three brothers; and three sisters.
