Proverbs 31:28

Part of Our Mother's 'Written Testimony

"I have learned that it is easy to have faith when everything is going well. It is only when you are flat on your back and all is doom and gloom that you really have to exercise that faith. Faith is like a muscle that grows stronger through experience and the exercise that builds a vibrant faith is the stress of facing daily circumstances with confidence in God. Sometimes is very difficult to keep a strong faith when life seems so difficult ard painful, but I think of Abraham. This man had so much faith that God would do what he promised, that he waited 20 years and was 100 years old when God gave him a son. Then there's the quiet faith of Isaac, the struggling faith of Jacob, and the patient faith of Joseph. All of these men had a faith in God that grew through the years.
I believe that if Jesus walked into our church building today, He would not be checking out the soft chairs, the carpet, or the sound system. He would be checking out how much faith we all have and how we are exercising it. If we just come to this building, do our thing, and leave, we are not following Christ's example. We must get serious about winning souls to Christ. We are the only voice of God some will hear."
