Our loving father, grandfather, and uncle, Jose Cristobal Archuleta, 91, died on November 17, 2008, surrounded by his family. He resided at 725 East Williams Way (4390 South) in Millcreek Township, Utah at the time of his death.


He was born June 1, 1918 in Ojo Caliente, New Mexico to Roman and Victoria Pacheco Archuleta. Joe worked in the CC Camp in Los Alamos, New Mexico on the Manhattan Project. Married Louise Gallegos on March 10, 1949. She died on December 13, 2001. He retired from Kennecott Copper after 35 years. He enjoyed Bees games with his grandchildren, fishing, and trips to Wendover.


Jose is survived by his children, Joyce (David) Monson, Elizardo (Pauline) Archuleta, Edward (Debbie) Archuleta, Christopher (Bill Goldstein) Archuleta, Billy Archuleta, Victor (Evelyn) Archuleta, Lalo (Peggy) Archuleta, Johnny (Min) Martinez, Toby (Pressy) Morfin, and Lonnie (Susan) Morfin. And numerous grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.


A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, where Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m.
Committal: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
