Caleb Adams was born April 27, 1818, at Lyman, New Hampshire, removed with his father's family to Hudson, Ohio, about 1834, was married to Louisa Case in 1845, removed to Janesville, Wisconsin, in 1856. He then went to Fayette Co., Iowa, in 1869 and to Correctionville in 1882, where in 1895 he lost his beloved wife of fifty years. Since that year he has lived with his children who survive him, viz: L.P. Adams of Correctionville, T.H. Adams of Columbus, Montana, and Mrs. William Douglass of Iroquois, South Dakota.
For the last six years he has lived with his son T.H. Adams at Columbus, Montana, where he died February 17, 1911, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 10 days. His remains were brought to Correctionville February 21, 1911, and laid beside his wife. In early life he united with the M.E. church in which he remained a constant member throughout his life.
