Gerard and Dorothy had seven children: Margaret Lindsay Brandon, Gerard Chittocque Brandon, Elizabeth Brandon, Matthew Nugent Brandon, Robert Emmett Brandon, Susannan Brandon, and William Lindsay Brandon.
Their son, Gerard, went on to become the Mississippi's 4th (1825–1826) and 6th (1826–1832) governor.
