John married Louisa in Coosa County, Alabama, October 13, 1853.
John's father, Thomas Maynard 1800-1836/38)died in Muscogee County, Georgia. His mother Elizabeth Mattox/Maddox Maynard Brizall? (1800-?) was in the 1860 census running a store in Harris County, GA with her husband, John.
Terri has located Thomas' parents grave sites: Nathanial Maynard #78472174 and Elizabeth Matthews Maynard #78436329 in the Maynard Family Cemetery, Barrow County, Georgia.

The following information has been provided by Find a Grave Contributor Ernest Maxwell (47519292):
If you check the 1850 Muscogee Co., GA census for John J. Mynard you will see the census taker included the county he was born in, Muscogee, not near DeKalb. I know many of the family records agree with what you have, but if you trace this line it goes from VA, to SC, to Jackson Co., GA on to Muscogee Co., GA to Coosa Co., AL and on to TX. Most all the family folk lores say the family was in South GA, but per land records, etc. that has never been proven.
