Charles Elton Green was born in Clackamas county Oregon, May 7, 1886. He died at the home of Sidney Green of Mt. Vernon, May 21, 1923 at the age of 37 years and fourteen days, and was buried in the Long Creek cemetery May 21, 1923.
He came to Long Creek when about eighteen months old where he lived for several years. At about three years of age he fell sick with some severe fever, which left him in poor health the remainder of his life. He was baptized by Rev. Rittenhouse when about seven years of age. He is survived by seven sisters and five brothers as follows: H. F. Green Freewater, Oregon; Sidney, Albert and Otis Green of Mt. Vernon, Joseph Green and Ella Shaw of Long Creek, Cora Haughton and Lizzie Cooper of Healdsburg, California; Lou Williams of San Jose, California; Martha Shields and Edna Bowen of Portland and Ida Henry of New York City. To these relatives, their man friends wish to extend their heartfelt sympathy in this time of sorrow and bereavement.
