Walter Anderson Beck, my Grandfather, served twice in the U.S.Navy. First from 1922-1926 as a Gunner's Mate 3rd Class and from 1944 until he received a medical discharge in 1945. He worked for the T.C.I. as a coal blaster between enlistments and after his discharge. He divorced my Grandmother when both of his son's were very young and my father had never seen him or a picture of him until I started doing genealogy and located a picture in Fl.. I located his grave after six years of searching and learned he was murdered by his second wife and her "friend" when he returned home early one day. He and his second wife Tennie Burbic Beck were only married two months when she and Louis Merkl murdered him by stabbing him and hitting him with a hatchet. Walter is buried in the veterans section of the cemetery in front of the flag pole.
